Resin Patio Surfacing in Naas
Resin bound surfacing gives you a smooth, permeable finish that suits patios and pathways down to the ground. It’s hard wearing, easy to look after, and comes in a good range of aggregate colours, so there’s something to suit just about any property.
Our resin team has laid hundreds of resin surfaced patios over the years, and we can tailor any patio area in Naas to suit what you’re after.
What Is Resin Surfacing?
Here’s how it works. We mix natural stone aggregates, usually between 2 and 6mm, with clear polyurethane resin, then trowel the mix onto a properly prepared base. Once it cures, you’ve got a solid surface where you can still see the individual stones, but they’re locked firmly together. The result is a lovely textured finish that feels comfortable underfoot.
A resin bound surface is permeable, so water drains straight through instead of sitting on top. That helps with drainage regulations, and it’s handy day to day too, because you won’t be left with puddles after the rain.
New Resin Patio Installations
For a brand new patio, we lay a porous concrete base first. This gives the resin the stable foundation it needs while keeping the whole build permeable from top to bottom. The concrete has to cure fully before we apply the resin, and I’ll tell you now, rushing that step is where things go wrong.
The depth depends on how the patio will be used. Most patios need around 100mm of porous concrete with a suitable sub base underneath. We also build in the correct falls for drainage, even though the surface itself is permeable.
Resurfacing Existing Patio With Resin
If you’ve got an old concrete patio that’s structurally sound but looking a bit tired, a resin overlay could be just the thing. We prepare the existing surface thoroughly by cleaning it, repairing any cracks and applying a primer so the resin bonds properly.
We don’t just offer great value on resin surfacing. We also do porcelain tiled patio installations, sandstone patios and plenty more besides.
